Corfield Woods Motorsport to make Season Debut this Saturday Night
Posted by: Ryan Corfield - Thursday, 15th October 2009

This Saturday night will be the season opener for the 2009/2010 Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway Sprintcar Track Championship and will also be the first race for Matt Young in the Corfield Woods Motorsport #44 machine.

Matt is making the switch from Speedcars (Midgets) to Sprintcars this year and has already shown some very impressive results during the two practice nights that had been held throughout the month of September.

“I’m really excited about racing this weekend at TPCR. We have had a really good lead up to the race season with the preparation that this team has displayed. I have learnt a lot over the past few practice nights, and we seem to have a good handle on the car with setup, as it’s been a very interesting transition from the midget.

Things happen a lot faster in the Sprintcar but with a full race season ahead of us we are confident of coming to terms with the speed and having some good results,” remarked Matt Young.

Like Matt, Gary was also extremely pleased with the results that Matt turned in during the first two practice sessions.

“Matt has done a great job so far during practice and I have full confidence that he is going to do well this season and beyond”, said Gary Corfield, Corfield Woods Motorsport team owner.

The 2009/2010 will see a new addition to the Corfield Woods Motorsport team in Lee Walker, Lee will be assisting Peter Woods as crew chief on the car. Matt and Lee have been good friends for many years now and Lee also worked with Matt during the time that he raced midgets.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Lee to the team. Lee has been around Sprintcar racing for quite some time now and has also worked for Kerry Madsen in the past”, explained Corfield

Corfield Woods Motorsport has full confidence that this will be their best season to date.

“We didn’t get the chance to run the car last season due to business commitments, however, we will be back with a vengeance this season. Please stay tuned to this website in the coming weeks as we have some very exciting news in the pipe lines,” explained Corfield.

Corfield Woods Motorsport would like to take this opportunity to thank sponsors: G&S Bulk Haulage, Vortex Racing Products, Corfield Media Solutions, Sensible Business Solutions and all of the MY1200 club members.
