Matt Young makes the move to Sprintcar Division with Corfield Woods Motorsport
Posted: by: Ryan Corfield

Corfield Woods Motorsport is pleased to announce that Matt Young will be joining the team at the start of the 2009/2010 Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway season as team driver. Matt and Corfield Woods Motorsport have had an association for a few years now and have decided to pursue things further.

“I’m really excited that we have been able to do a deal with Matt, which will allow him to drive for us this year and beyond,” remarked Gary Corfield, Corfield Woods Motorsport team owner.

Matt is definitely no newcomer within the speedway fraternity as he is an ex-Speedcar driver. For many years now Matt has been looking for the opportunity to compete in the elite category of Sprintcar racing and the opportunity has now arisen.

'What a way to start the new season! With more than double the horsepower and a wing on top, the transition is something that I'm really looking forward to.  It's great to be joining the ever professional Corfield Woods Motorsport team and I cant thank them enough for the opportunity. This year will also see long time crew chief Lee Walker join the team, so I'm positive that we will be on the pace early in the season," stated an enthusiastic Young.

Matt’s association with speedway extends a lot further than his driving experience in the Speedcar (Midget) ranks. Matt is also the Speedway Sales Manager at Rocket Industries, the leading performance parts warehouse in Australia. As a result of this, Matt is kept well up-to-date with the happenings in the technical aspect of the sport.

“Matt has been a great asset to the Corfield Woods Motorsport team prior to this new venture with his in-depth knowledge of all of the speedway products that are required to see these cars perform to the best of their ability. He’s polite, which will definitely fit into the team’s culture well,” explained Corfield.

The team would also like to take this opportunity to thank sponsors: G&S Bulk Haulage, Vortex Racing products and Sensible Business Solutions for their continued support of Corfield Woods Motorsport’s racing efforts.

Be sure to keep an eye on the team’s newly re-vamped website – www.corfieldwoods.com.au for all of the information on the Corfield Woods Motorsport team.
