Corfield Woods Motorsport is a racing team that has been in existence for well over twenty years. During that time, we have been involved in many different forms of Motorsport, including Drag Boat Racing, Drag Car Racing and now Sprintcar racing. Regardless of the form of Motorsport that we have been competing in, we have always prided ourselves on being professional and competitive and from this outset we have managed to achieve the goals that we have set successfully.
Corfield Woods Motorsport has been formed and managed by two principles, Gary Corfield and Peter Woods. Gary, now retired from the driver’s seat now assists the team with the preparation of the racecar and performs logistical duties, while Peter is the team’s crew chief, ensuring that the team always has the right equipment at the right time.
The team firmly believe that the majority of their success has come during the time that we have been Sprintcar racing, with the
team staking claim to it’s one and only A-Main feature win back in 2004 with Washington, USA based driver, Jayme Barnes behind the wheel. The team has contested the World of Outlaws Downunder event twice, equating to six A-Mains with the best drivers the world has to offer including the likes of Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz. The team has managed to qualify for all six A-Main fields, with their best finish coming in the 2007 edition of the race when Chad Hillier finished 5th in the second preliminary night.

Here is some of our past racing achievements prior to us switching to Sprintcar racing.
Gary raced Top Alcohol Hydro's all during the 1980's and during that time earned numerous Australian Top Alcohol Hydro championships and also held the Australian National Speed record at the time.
During the middle to late 90's, the Corfield Woods Motorsport team fielded a Holden VN Commodore in Drag Racing's most competitive bracket, Top Doorslammer. The car was built in Sydney by Terry's Diffs and Chassis and was powered by a 557ci Keith Black engine, which was built by Jim Pisciotta Racing Engines, Granite Bay, California, USA.
The team didn't get to make many runs with the car due to the lack of racing in Sydney as a result of no racing venue. The car did manage to run consistently in the mid six second bracket at well over 200 Miles per Hour.
Today, Sydney is home to one of the world's best Drag Racing facilities, Western Sydney International Dragway. Visit their website here - www.wsid.com.au. Top Doorslammer is still by far the most over subscribed and most fiercely contested category in Australian Drag Racing today. It's common for there to be more than 20 cars entered at each national event with every driver fighting for a qualifying position in the eight car field. Today Top Doorslammers are able to complete a quarter mile pass in 5.8 seconds with speeds approaching 250 miles per hour.
